Rivermaya WINS at MTV Asia Awards 2006!

For the 2nd-straight year Rivermaya has won the award for Favorite Artist - Philippines Category at this years MTV Asia Awards. Introduced by none other than Destiny's Child's Kelly Rowland, they are the first Filipino band invited to perform at the MTV Asia Awards and also the first Filipino artist given a solo spot performance which drew an overwhelming response from the audience composed of people from across the asian region. Worldwide, the show was also enjoyed by an estimated 1 billion MTV viewers.

The band wishes to thank everyone who helped in the campaign and voting and they dedicated the award to all the Filipino bands and fans who worked hard last year to make it another great year for Filipino music. More details to follow when they return from Bangkok on May 9th.
