a letter of parental consent (or your parent).
5. WHAT ABOUT IF I AM OUTSIDE METRO MANILA?
We welcome everyone.
Those who cannot come to the auditions may upload a video-performance on youtube and send us a link. Depending on the performance, you will still be required to come to Manila to audition live.
6. WHAT HAPPENS IF I MISS THE AUDITION DATES?
Same answer as above.
Please keep in mind that the August auditions will be just the FIRST STEP in the process of finding a new member of Rivermaya.
A set of finalists will be selected and they will be asked to undergo further rounds of auditions or challenges.
Additional auditions may be announced depending on the outcome of the August auditions.
7. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Let's just say we are keeping an open mind. We are waiting to listen to YOU.
8. WHAT HAPPENS ON THE AUDITION DAYS?
Come early and go to the registration desk. Fill up the Information Sheet and Release Form. (The Release Form will allow us to broadcast your audition on youtube, our website, radio or TV.)
You will also be given a number that will show your order of appearance in the auditions.
9. WHAT SHOULD I AUDITION?
Pick an audition piece that will tell us something about you and your musical taste. Rivermaya songs are not a must unless you are planning to perform it in a fresh, original way.
10. HOW DO SONGWRITERS AUDITION?
Just like everyone else. They must perform their own composition. Please note that we are NOT auditioning songs. The songwriter must also be willing to join Rivermaya permanently and PERFORM with the band.
11. HOW LONG IS THE AUDITION PROCESS?
Maximum of two (2) minutes. Give it your best shot. Choose the part of your song that will show your strengths in 60 seconds.
You will be auditioned a capella. But you can accompany yourself with any acoustic instrument (guitar, cajon, etc.)
The more talents you can showcase, the better.
12. WHAT SHOULD I DO AT THE AUDITIONS PROPER?
Start by introducing yourself (name); 1 (one) sentence on why you want to be part of Rivermaya. Then start with your audition piece. TWO MINUTES MAXIMUM IN TOTAL.
13. WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE AUDITION PROPER?
We will decide on the spot if you make it to the top set of finalists. You will be given a RIVERMAYA FINALIST PASS if you make it.
Finalists will be asked back for a second round of auditions, that may or may not wind up as a television show. Please be ready for this.
14. WILL THE AUDITIONS BE RECORDED AND BROADCAST?
Yes. All interviews and performances will be recorded and video’ed. These interviews and performances will be broadcast on youtube, radio, or tv.
15. WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
We also expect that you have an open mind. Be prepared to be patient. We are sure that whatever happens, it will be worth it.
