Due to insistent demand from music fans across the country, Rivermaya releases the "Liwanag Sa Dilim Special Edition" of its best-selling album "Between The Stars & Waves". (The album is released under the Viva Records label, a member of the mammoth Viva Entertainment Group, and is in stores now for the Christmas season.)


The special edition album contains two bonus tracks of the No. 1 hit "Liwanag sa Dilim (Kaya Mo 'To)”, the original version as well as an acoustic. Both are ruling the airwaves currently. The two tracks have been previously unreleased -- bringing the already much in-demand album to a whopping total of 17 tracks.


"Liwanag sa Dilim" has taken radio countdowns by storm since its release mid-year. A youth anthem that speaks of hope, belief and triumph over adversity, “Liwanag sa Dilim” once again strikes a chord with any listener. Penned by Rivermaya frontman Rico Blanco and arranged by Rivermaya, it has now officially joined the band’s pantheon of unforgettable hits from “Awit ng Kabataan” to “Umaaraw, Umuulan”. Rivermaya is a certified hit-making machine, producing over 20 smash hits in its 10-year, 10-disc career, making it the band that has truly written the soundtrack for several generations.


Rivermaya's "Between the Stars and Waves" has already spawned two monster hits -- the R&B-infused love song "Balisong" which has captured the public's imagination with its lyrical poetry as well as "A Love to Share", an ironic commentary on loneliness.

The Special Edition CD also features an oil painting entitled "Wakasan", created by Blanco, for its new cover.


The "Liwanag sa Dilim" special edition album is destined to become another multi-platinum hit for the band that notched back-to-back wins as “Best Group” in the MTV Pilipinas Awards 2002 and 2003. Rivermaya is currently nominated as “Favorite Artist” for the Philippines in the MTV Asia Awards 2005 to be held in Thailand next February.
