Rivermaya Wins at 1st MYX Music Awards

Barely a month after their win at the 2006 MTV Asia Awards, Rivermaya fans have done it again. After an intense one-month campaign period the band has just won two awards at the 1st ever MYX Music Awards, Best Media Soundtrack - "You'll Be Safe Here" and Best Video - "You'll Be Safe Here". They dedicated their awards to their families, all the members of their mailing list, all the fans of OPM, and to the independent filmmakers who have offered their services to independent bands who still do not have the budget for good music videos. Watch out for the airing of the awards on June 10 at 8pm with performances by Sandwich, Juan dela Cruz members Pepe Smith & Wally Gonzales, Parokya Ni Edgar & Kamikazee, a special tribute number for Megastar Sharon Cuneta, and other suprise guests.
